El Dr. Edward Mezerhane es un médico certificado como especialista en Medicina del Sueño para adultos y niños. Se dedica a crear conciencia en cómo los trastornos del sueño pueden afectar su salud y su vida en general. El Dr. Mezerhane nació en Venezuela. Llegó a los Estados Unidos cuando tenía 6 años de edad y se crió en Miami y Pembroke Pines, FL. Por su amor a la ciencia y la pasión por seguir los pasos de su padre el Dr. Miguel Mezerhane, comenzó sus estudios de medicina en el 2005 en la Universidad de Miami Miller School of Medicine. El Dr. Mezerhane se graduó en el 2009, siendo honrado con el “Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor”.
Fue galardonado con la beca “Trustee Academic Scholarship” y reconocido por médicos y colegas, honrándolo con el “Department of Medicine Professionalism Award”. Estuvo afiliado a “Alpha Epsilon Lambda Graduate Honor Society” y fue iniciado en el “Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society”, siendo el honor más alto que un médico puede obtener durante su educación médica.
Completó su residencia en Medicina Interna en la Universidad de Miami/ Jackson Health Systems en el 2012. Fue merecedor del premio “UM-JMH Department of Medicine Ambulatory”.
Inmediatamente después de completar su residencia en Medicina Interna en el 2012, comenzó su especialización en Medicina del Sueño en la Universidad de Miami/ Jackson Health Systems. Durante su entrenamiento estuvo involucrado en varios proyectos de investigación que incluyeron el estudio de la apnea del sueño, el insomnio y la narcolepsia. Fue reconocido por sus compañeros y médicos cuando se le otorgó el premio “Sleep Medicine Fellow of the Year Award” al graduarse.
Su formación educativa le permite examinar pacientes basados en las necesidades de cada uno de ellos para un cuidado médico exhaustivo.
Desde el inicio de su práctica privada en 2013, su laboratorio ha sido acreditado por la Academia Americana de Medicina del Sueño (AASM), desempeñándose como director del mismo. Actualmente es miembro activo de AASM y se ha desempeñado como miembro del grupo de trabajo de Control de Calidad Métrica y Comité de Acreditación.
El Dr. Mezerhane se desempeña como investigador principal en la División de Investigación Clínica, participando en múltiples ensayos de investigación patrocinados. Aparte de su rol como clínico e investigador, el Dr. Mezerhane funge como orador, líder de opinión y miembro de la junta asesora para la industria farmacéutica dentro de su área de especialización.
Actualmente forma parte del cuerpo médico del “Baptist Hospital of Miami” y del “South Miami Hospital”.

Screen-reader optimization: we run a background process that learns the website’s components from top to bottom, to ensure ongoing compliance even when updating the website. In this process, we provide screen-readers with meaningful data using the ARIA set of attributes.
